Thank you for another successful Red Dress Gala!
The Theta Iota chapter of Alpha Phi at JMU loves to raise money for the Alpha Phi Foundation. In fact, our chapter has raised more than $200,000! The Alpha Phi Foundation provides grants to promote research on women's heart health, and also sponsors many leadership opportunities and scholarships for collegians in the United States and Canada.
Why does Alpha Phi care about women's heart health? "Heart disease and stroke cause 1 in 3 deaths among women each year - more than all cancers combined. Fortunately, we can change that because 80% of cardiac and stroke events may be prevented with education and action." - The American Heart Association
One of our biggest philanthropy events is our annual Red Dress Gala. Each year we invite hundreds of our closest friends and family to join us in raising money for the Alpha Phi Foundation as well as the Rockingham Memorial Hospital here in Harrisonburg, VA. We hope you will consider joining us at next year's Gala!
